what was your experience w. it and did it work for you?
i usually do crunches but its been hurting my back pretty bad lately
and i wanted to find an alternative method for working my abs.
is there something else you do that works really well, please dont suggest any rigorous activities as i am in poor health
thanks so much
Try Pilates, that includes lots of ab work, but in balance with back to keep from getting back pain. You can’t get weight off one area, like the stomach, by doing "spot reducing" exercises on that area. Weight will come off all over, and especially if you don’t starve yourself but make it very gradual. You can do Pilates with a DVD at home and stop when it’s too much. But they were invented for people in poor health and even bed-ridden people, so you can benefit from them at any level and stop if it’s too much and still gain strength. Work on toning up all over, not just the abs or any one area so you don’t get out of balance and cause a pain in the opposite area (like the back). Good luck.

if crunches are hurting your back you are not doing them correctly.
try leg raises, half sits. Don’t forget to do back exercises too, eg. lie flat on your stomach stretch your arms out in front, raise legs and arms off the floor for a few seconds and lower, try a few of those a day to help your back, and balance out work done on abs.
